The Truth About Apple’s AI "Failure" and the Future of Siri.
Introduction
Apple has been behind on their AI technology in the past few years, with Siri sometimes unable to do basic tasks, like searching for questions such as, "When is the next Apple Event". Unlike Google Gemini, Apple is focusing on an AI that opens apps and emails photos rather than being a search bot that gives answers from websites. That's why Apple gives search results instead of a direct answer. To solve this issue, Apple attempted to make their own Gemini, called Apple Intelligence.
Apple Intelligence
When Apple Intelligence was first introduced, it seemed as if Apple knew what they were doing. But the final result was disappointing and just used ChatGPT. Not only that, but it was delayed a lot. Many people think that Apple using ChatGPT means they gave up, but for them, it's just to be safe, like a safety net.
The Future for Apple Intelligence
Apple is aware that Siri is a little basic and they are trying to improve it by making Siri be able to "see" your screen. While this sounds cool, there are some privacy concerns. Apple is trying to be the "Home" of all AIs. Like Perplexity and GitHub Copilot, it most likely will have Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT. They're also working on adding Apple Intelligence to the Apple Vision Pro, and most features will most likely be on the newer "M" Chips.
Conclusion
So far, Apple Intelligence is nowhere near perfect, but it seems to have a very bright future ahead.
